I'm running this race in memory of my brother, Jonari, whom I recently lost to cancer. Jonari was a constant source of joy, laughter, and love in my life—the kind of person you could call and lean on for anything and everything. Even during his battle with cancer, his spirit never wavered. When he went into remission, he proved just how strong he was by running the entire LA Marathon, an incredible achievement that showed his determination and zest for life.
Jonari knew better than anyone how much I hated running. We'd joke about it all the time. But this race isn't about me—it's about honoring him, celebrating his life, and continuing the fight against the disease that took him from us.
To all my friends and family who have donated to this cause, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your generosity and support mean more to me than words can express. Knowing that you're standing with me in Jonari's memory makes this journey a little easier.
Jonari, I miss you every single day. I can picture you up there, making heaven a little more stylish, a little more fun, and a whole lot more fashionable. This one's for you, brother. Love you and miss you always.
